Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Kerttula: Page 1, line 1 (title amendment): Delete all material. Insert ""An Act making an appropriation for community schools; and providing for an effective date."" Page 1, lines 3 - 14: Delete all material. Insert "* Section 1. COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. The sum of $500,000 is appropriated to the Department of Education and Early Development for the purposes of continuing the Community Schools program from the following sources: SOURCE AMOUNT General Fund $500,000" Renumber the following section accordingly. Representative Kerttula moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Meyer objected. Representative Berkowitz placed a call of the House. The Speaker stated the call was satisfied. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" Representative Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 165(HES) be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading, and placed on final passage. Representative Berkowitz objected. CSHB 165(HES) will advance to third reading on tomorrow's calendar.
